It's the saw in my signature, and the only saw I have and have used for the last 20+ years now. I love the old Mac to death, but it's a PITA to clean with the way the clutch/sprocket/chain brake area is open to the "head" area of the saw.

I get oily shavings/chips everywhere in and on this saw!!! Then there's all the nooks and cranies that hold all this stuff making it a pain to blow out with compressed air.

I have 3 types of cleaning I do on her.........................basic, basic+, and semi tear down.

I had a 150 Homie back in the day. Couldn't kill it, even when I straight-gassed it a bit. (Caught it in time.) Power-peak somewhere around 7K rpm, so who needs A/V? 'Bout 2 yrs back I picked up a runner 150 for a bud. Eighty $ in parts later (oil tank casting was cracked), he had a like-new lightweight 40 cc saw he couldn't bog down.
Service access is different, but absolutely nothing like those POS Mini-Macs. Couple screws and the whole power-unit slides right out. :dancer:

Oops, forgot to mention stihl 441. Got ambushed to r&r p&c on one that lost the p&c to design defect that was out of warranty by minutes. Most whacked-out design I've ever seen, about 4 orders of magnitude more complicated than Dolmar 6100. :loco:

The 1127 series Stihls are pretty challenging. So.... that's the model of saw I work on the most. They're not worth doing engine work on by a shop so there's lots of broken ones around. The resale is good and I do it for a hobby so don't need to be fairly compensated. If I was doing it for a living, I wouldn't work on them either...

Handnt seen that color combo.

This one runs but needs the clutch off the parts saw beside it. Shelf saws to be traded.

I'm very new to rebuilding saws, but the first two I did were a 200T and a 201T. I guess everything else should be a piece of cake after fussing around with these...
