Build quality certainly varies between models and manufacturers right down to individual models within the same brand. Some products appear to have been designed to be assembled, used and thrown away but not to be repaired.

441 is the most aggravating one I've worked on.

I couldn't agree more. It's like the goal on that saw was to engineer in as many individual pieces as possible....

The one I have, the whole air box and carburetor hold down set up is a disaster!

The home depot husky saws. I think it was a husky 142 that I rebuilt the carb on for a guy at work. I told him to never bring that ssw back to me again. The wrap handle has to come off to get the air box/carb holder thing off!!! And the junk quick chain tensioner holds the chain tightfor all of like 5 mins!

I believe the complexity goal was the same for the 261, 362, and 441 - might have even been a competition! However, I think the 441 designer was the winner of the trophy....

Those saws remind of the Rube Goldberg cartoons where he sketched overly complicated contraptions to accomplish simple tasks.

Nothing is better designed than the 2xx XP husqvarna series of saws.

Well everyone gets their choice, like in the old song "I saw your wife last night and she sure is ugly, yeah but she sure can cook baby....if you wanna be happy the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife"!
