We all work on them all or at the very least those that come our way. However, there are some that have become a huge PITA! What are yours? I'll start with my short list:

    Stihl MS 192T/200T/201T
    Husqvarna/Partner 750/760, 950/960, 1250/1260
Anything that the owner does not maintain or at least keep clean!

Actually I don't have a problem with the Stihl cut off saws. The older HVA cut off saws K series are not bad. However I agree on ANY top handle saw.

Admittedly, the vast majority of what I've worked on have been Stihls. Truthfully, I don't mind the top handle saws at all - rebuilt a bunch of them, so I guess I just got used to them. I've worked on a few of the homeowner Huskys and I didn't care for how they were put together, but that was probably just bias.

What do I hate working on? Mini Macs & the MS441.

I haven't worked on a top handle yet, and the only Homelite I've worked on is my dad's antique homelite, and that was just a carburetor adjustment. Why are top handles so bad?

I've had a few cross my path... But the Chinese saws were the worst. Stihls have an easier intake boot system (Husq has had numerous failures because of boots and clamps). But depending on the model? Depends on the ease of getting apart.

Never worked on a top handle. But can imagine they may be a pain.

No particular models.. So no real help.. Sorry.

12lbs of crap stuffed into a 3lb box. you have to disassemble the entire saw to get anything done.

Great imagery.  Makes sense though, stuffing all of the parts into a tinier place will make things more difficult.

I'm with Guido on the Homelite XL line - carb work is simple, but coil work, oil lines, top end, etc. are true PITAs. Not a fan of the Craftsman 2.0 saw either - I have three that could run if I'd spend the time - just don't want too! We should have a favorite saws to work on post too (but perhaps that's been done)! Cheers!

Hm, maybe one day I'll take apart my dad's homelite and do some work on it, provided he'll let me.:D

    The 1127 stihl saws.

The old school top handles. The old echo I have from the 80s or late 70s.
