I draw quite a bit in my spare time, especially during the winter months when being outside is a lot harder on the body than during the summer. Just wonder, anyone else out there draw/paint/carve?
I do cutter. I woodwork, carve, forge, and do a little copper work. Darker evenings put me down the basement. I miss the nice weather, but I can get some serious bench time down there this time of year.
I draw. I wanted to be an artist until I realized there were a zillion other artists and I couldn't afford to pay rent. Painting supplies aren't cheap either. Here is an abstract from an art class. We were working on light. One of those days when the teacher throws objects on the table and says draw them as you see them.
Sure wish I had the artistic talent to do some carving. The only type of carving I have done is to stencil some letters onto wood and then relief carve them into a sign.
I use to try to draw. Then I realized I can't. I am now hoping to become an artist with the land that I own. Making it into a beautiful place/work of art!
I'm just the opposite on body torture, my winter months are recoup time, the summer is the beat myself up season.
Is the second Dude one of your creations or a known character from a game or movie? I don't follow them much?
The top drawing is Shadow from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, which is a video game series which has a comic book and animated show series, the bottom one is just something I came up with.
I thought I knew Sonic. The second guy I was not sure if that was a representation of how you felt when you ran out of your favorite beer or what?
I haven't picked up a pencil to draw with in 10 years, but back when I had free time and slow internet I used to draw a lot more often. I drew this sheep by propane lantern when the electric went out at the house for 10 days straight.
