Was a sunny day, needed a picture to post
End showing signs of drying: a hairline cracking.

Nice wood stack Dave but I never get excited about the ends showing cracks. Purely cosmetic.

Actually spent most of the day in the shop servicing the ATV & putting stuff away for the season.
Since moose season , I was on the go, lots of projects left un-finished,
Servicing, cleaning & putting stuff away so I can find it takes a while.
Re-arranged the storage , winter stuff up front.

Had the shop door open for quite a while though.

25° now, blue sky above no wind. heavy frost.
Fog lifted off Knik Arm & blocked the sun, doubt it hits 40° today.

Maybe go out & get a stack/mts pic if it warms up.

I had two oak stacks I put up a month or two ago, the one that gets more sun has all the end cracks and the other with more indirect sun has no end cracks. Are you seeing the same thing?

Nice looking stacks by the way!

The National Bureau of Standards should make the new world standard 1 mile defined as "four times the length of bogydave's November 2014 stack". Great pictures!

    Yea
    Same
I see some end cracking on the shaded (North ) side but
a lot more cracking on the sunny (South) side.
As it seasons, the difference becomes real noticeable .

Need to work that, maybe a bunch of mirrors ? LOL :)
