Must have panickked if contained. We had a dog like that. She destroyed more window screens and doors. She had separation anxiety.

  I put thin trashed paperback books in all the door jambs to keep the cats from locking themselves in.

I crate all my dogs when I'm not at home, do it from when they are a pup so they are used to it, they love their crate makes them feel safe and they cant get into trouble/hurt themselves. My dogs run to their crate when I say "crate time"...of course they get a cookie when I come to close the door:).

Willow I can't tie out, she will chew through the leash in a matter of minutes. I remember some hikes with her and Oliver!, when I had just the two. He would run off and I'd have to go bushwacking after him so I'd tie her to a tree so I didn't have to drag her through the brush. I'd find Oliver! and come back to find just a leash tied to the tree and no Willow:doh:

:hair:I never have found an "indestructible" dog bed. Now I jus get fleece blankets for a couple bucks from Goodwill and throw three or four in there. They chew them little bits at a time but who cares.

here is a pic from our morning romp in the woods this am

Dave, you must the Dog Whisperer. That's a great shot.

Loon, yeah, I have probably spent $3000 trying to build fences that will keep Pearl on my property. She can climb them like ladders, dig under them, tear them apart(literally), go right through 'em, you name it, she's gotten out of it. Pyrs want to roam. Period. She doesn't have any interest in tearing up the house, but try to keep her on an acre or two and she wants 40!

So, Dave, I tried my hand at a photo like yours the other day....

    All of us....

I almost got all of 'em including kitty, but nope...

Great pics Matt, your pups look happy:).

That is our usual turn around spot, I give them a treat there every time we start heading back, they are all sitting there wondering what is taking me so long:rofl:

I picked up my little black dog off the side of the road. I was in sales and drove for many years, picked up many dogs over the that time, kept them safe from traffic etc til the owners got home, the owners were always grateful. Turns out the humane society had put a chip in him when he was adopted. The previous owner of this dog was busted for dumping him and again for not calling in a lost report, then asked if I wanted to keep him.....(that was in 2006). He looked like mean as I was driving by. After I stopped and he jumped in my truck I realized he was not mean, but he was terrified :tears:. He has had separation anxiety all these years despite my training attempts. When I was working it was easier for everyone to just take him with me, (at the same time he was one of four pampered dogs we owned, only one with troubles). BTW, he is a great traveler, I learned all the pet friendly hotels on travels lol. I have been home alot of years since then, but he still panics when I have an appt outside the house, as well as follow me on my heels every time I get up.

He is a very good boy and I will never worry about losing him from running away. I think the funniest incident was the a few days after he came to us. I arrived home from work to find chew marks on my cordless phone, redial showed 44444444477777444 etc....

Let the dogs out for a late potty break tonight. LOL I pulled on the door twice and checked the lock twice before I realized it was frozen  :whistle:

The denver news had a blurb on pets left out in the cold, it wasn't easy to watch. My hunting dog was only out a few minutes and came back limping.
