You got that right! Crank up the 'stone! :fire: We're looking at low 20s/low 30s here for the next several days. Chance of snow Sat. but probably wouldn't be too big a deal. I'll get a chance to see if the revamped Dutchwest can keep up...I think it can. Still haven't addressed the seam leak in my 'stone, figured I'd just start the season with the Dw until I could get to it. Had no idea winter would be here right after Halloween. o_O Pretty much the same size boxes, Dw may even hold a little more, but I think the Ks will toss more heat....not sure why that would be, if indeed that turns out to be the case.

Holy crap WW! I just looked at the temp in your signature and it screamed -19f.
I guess getting up to re-fire that 13i halfway through the night isn't going to be so bad at all, eh?
Now I know what temps to look for in the next couple days/weekend!

So yooperdave, how much did you end up with?

I agree that WW gets pretty cold and then when you figure the wind, it gets a bit raw out there.

1-3" snow forecast for us Saturday night but that should not bother many. Ground will be frozen by then too.

It's too early to tell as it is STILL snowing! The local radio reported this morning that Negaunee had 32" out of the deal. I don't think we'll be much behind that.

    Good luck Saturday.

So, is it time to open Suicide Hill? No doubt they need more snow pack for things like that.

Dang, I still miss the UP, even in times like this.....:(

I think the KS is a little more efficient than the DW and you also have a little different heat feel from radiant KS verses convection DW.

I feel the same way Dennis, lived up there for 12 years and loved it.

Bugs gone, ground frozen, a little snow & good working temperatures .

That is current I think, sigs are current no matter when you post, if you update your sig all of your sigs update. IIRC

Gonna get colder here but no where near what you fellas up north get. Supposed to be low twenties over night Friday and Saturday night. Good Stove Burning Weather.

Well WW, that's what I thought too! But when I saw the same temp (-19) two days in a row...well,...MY BAD.

The Polar Vortex kicked me and some coworkers in the private parts. We had meetings scheduled Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Minneapolis and things got completely screwed up. I do want to put a shout out to United Airlines for keeping us on the runway for 3 hours on Monday and 2.5 hours yesterday afternoon. Delta Airlines had no such issues. Minnesota was cold as bleep and there was a lot of snow and ice on the roads. Get the stoves and firewood ready folks, this isn't looking good....

Oh, major thumbs down. Delta operated at normal flight arrival and departure times while United was screwed up completely. Add to the delightful experience that United uses small, regional jets for any flight of 3 hours or less. So, on Monday, me and some coworkers sat in a blistering hot, cramped mini jet for a total of 6.5 hours for what was supposed to be a flight of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Years ago, Continental used to send 757's between Newark and Minneapolis, but no more. Their puny little flying oven could have fit in the cargo compartment of a 757. But heck, the price was right, $1800.00 for the flight. United sucks.

Not nearly as cold as some of you guys, but it's dipping into the low 30s here soon after some hot days. Skies are real dark, definitely looks like winter is here

*best old northerner voice* Storms a comin' :BrianK:
