New Project

That sounds like a cool project. I like the coasters too woodlands! Nice.

 

After this first batch of coasters, I have another 18 - 24 that will need to be done.

That stacking might never get done, this is just a guess but I'm thinking I have another 1.5 cord (not face) that needs stacking.

 

Tomorrow morning the last coat will go on the second side.

 

Well the next batch will go a little faster and easier

 

I might put less coats on, but it should go better.

After the last coat tomorrow morning I'll throw some pics up, then I'll put some wax on them late Sunday.

The first pic is the second side before it was sanded and the after pic with four coats.

I would do a couple and that will go along pretty fast

One coat of wax on one side tonight, the second coat will go on tomorrow night so we should be having coffee on these Friday morning.

We're taking the ones I did for my brother, I'll be doing him another six.

Did you wipe them down with mineral spirits after sanding to see what it would look like with the finish?
That will also help to see scratches from the previous grit

Sometimes it can be hard to find the grits you need in the belt size you have so if you wanted to order some offline, this place will probably have what you want I have bought a lot of sandpaper from them, http://www.woodworkingshop.com/abrasive-belts/
Of course this is not the only site you can get sand paper but it is one of the best places to find what you need, I'm not sure about shipping charges there , it's been a while since I bought any there, the gold and the blue stuff last forever seems like.
