I'm not sure what is going on but I've trapped more mice in the house the past few days then I've trapped in the past few years combined. Got two more tonight, one in a trap and one with the shop vac when I saw my cat chasing the mouse behind the couch. Unfortunately my cat sees mice as something fun to play with, not something to eat.

I caught four in the garage yesterday, and two in the house Sunday. I'm figuring that either a 'free food and rent' ad with my address was put up on craigslistformice.com, or the mice know something I don't about what winter has in store.

Wish I knew how the darn things were getting into the house. I'm sure there is a dime sized hole somewhere.

My wife has caught 15-20 in our house in the last month. Basement, but that is concerning. The population has really gone up around here. No wonder there are a couple of wild/stray cats that are so healthy around here.

My three cats have been busy. Mostly catching baby mice. I found acorns in my boot so I know I have other issues.

That's when you know it's starting to get cold. Check entry ways. Garages. Crawl space entry's . It pays to have a cat this time of year...

had a rat in the garage last week, (noticed some droppings) and aluminum foil on the floor from the grease bucket of my pellet grill, looked in bucket and seen claw marks where he had been scrapping the grease out. went and bought a couple traps/put a little peanut butter on them and snapped his neck a few hours later

Dealing with the mice problem also in our kitchen. They were just hanging out in the bottom cabinets. Now they've migrated up onto the counters and I'm seriously considering getting a cat.

We had nomadic mice once when we lived in a neighborhood with houses close together. Every few months they showed up at different neighbor. All of us erradicated what we could but the remainder seemed to end up just finding a new house. But you may be right, the mice might know winter is here....

Mice have been bad around here too. Funny that I have a waste basket in the barn and almost every day find a mouse in there. They get in and can't get out.

Holy heeby, there jeebie... :hair::D You wouldn't have liked being with Giz and I yesterday. In the basement, and I noticed she was awful still while nosing around sumthin... dead mouse. Have no Decon on the property. She didn't kill it. Have no idea why it died. Glad it did. Never would have even seen it without Gizmonster havin' a sniff fest. Shows they can get in so we'll hafta pay more attention.

I must be lucky, when I bought my house on foreclosure there was evidence that a hoard of mice had been living in there, I spent several hours when I first moved in vacuuming poo and disinfecting every surface. But it's been almost 3 years and I haven't seen a single one in the house since then. Now I've got a dog and 2 cats, but that's only been for a year and one cat is de-clawed and the other is a kitten still.

Now there have been 2 bats inside the house, as well as several spiders almost the size of my palm. I"m sure that's because while mice don't bother me or my wife, she's deathly afraid of bats, and I'm terrified of spiders.

Hawk Bait, 9 ounce pail $49.99, haven't had a problem for two years now. Put in attic and areas away from pets, it will kill with first ingestion.:rootintootin:

I use it out in the shed and out buildings, but I don't want those stinky critters dying off in the house unless their in my snap traps or under my boot. They just stink too much when they're rotting away in the walls or behind the fridge, etc..

The cat apparently got a mouse today. Got home and my wife pointed to the remains of a mouse under the dining room table. The cat got a bit of a snack. I got to clean up the remnants.

Two more victims in traps in the garage. I'm going to run out of peanut butter at this rate.
