WW, When I first fired the 13 about 4 years back, I too was concerned about the break-in fire and the new stove smell. Built a small fire and let her go out. Then built a small fire and... I took a quick peek at that other thread and it sure looks like that cat was past it's useful life, no? Glad you have the stove on line before the temps hit ya.
Enjoy! Fun times when you get a new heater. Time to update the sig; I had to do detective work to figure out what you had.
Yes Yooper, fried beyond recognition. Also the stove was so gummed up with creosote in hard to reach places. Bummer I bought a $200 cat for it before we decided to get the new 13i. Hopefully the guy I gave it to gets it back to its previous glory. Thanks, tell 99lbs hello.
Hey fox, yes and no on the coals. There were enough coals in there this morning for a relight, but I added a few logs at 3am. Dear Husband said 6 hour burn including my 3 am logs.
Stay warm, you guys are getting hit pretty early. Snow in Nov. is expected, these cold temps. aren't.
You'll probably be able to get longer burns once you get used to running the stove, I almost bought one of the Englander inserts but they were sold out when I was buying. Yikes, -3 with snow and forecasted -20 tomorrow, winter comes early to Wyoming.
48° here To drop to 35° tonight I've no doubt, winter will be back soon enough , I'll enjoy this while I can (& not feel guilty )
Yea Kind of balmy. Kinda fun being outside in just a sweatshirt . I did see some bugs today. Not mosquitoes but , if this temp holds on much longer, they'll be out. Wonder what MN has planned for us next. Seen this rodeo before , we won't get thru unscathed I'm sure.
