LOL. That is like a big ol battery. It is a hot water thermal storage tank. Now it does not store the hot water you take a shower with. It stores the hot water from your boiler. It acts like a "buffer" tank as some call it and gives a place for you to put some energy. I sprayed it with spray foam after my guys installed it for me and we were sure there were no leaks in the system. It is about 400 gallons. Some guys keep anywhere up to 1000 gallons or more with there wood burning gasification boilers. The most efficient way to burn wood is flat out. And having a lot of storage allows you to burn your wood flat out and then just shut your boiler off and coast. Then the tanks heat your house or whatever your heating and then you "batch burn" whenever your tank temps start to go down. Now with the size of my house and garage and all, my tank will not heat for a long time, hence the "buffer tank". It lets my boiler catch up so to speak when several zones are calling for heat and when they are not I can store energy there as well. I could go on and on about it, but I don't want to bore you.......... say good-night Gracie. Good night.

I think the "basement dweller membership" needs to have clarification on who REALLY referred to you as "trolls" (it wasn't us surface dwellers)........see post # 12 in this thread:

A fellow member has suggested we change out name to "Cellar Dwellers"

    What do the members think?

Tink, add the magic words to your sig. You have been seconded and thirded even.

What's this vote stuff? We are an equal opportunity evil dictatorship.

The head troll provides us all with equal opportunity to dish out a ration about his dictatorship.

I think it is because he is afraid we will revolt and cut off his brew supply.
