    Creosote, black soot inside flue
Stage one creosote, comes off easily with brushing
stage two, harder creosote, comes off with a stiff brush, sometimes thin chunks.
stage three, baked on creosote, can be shiny like glass, alot harder to remove. Chimney fire danger.

Anyone else, please add/correct any of the above.

Basics. Yes, I needed these...

Flue, how the smoke exits from the stove out of the house
damper, the door that opens or closes the flue
air intake (caps, lever or other?) to adjust how much air the fire gets, and how hot you want it.
As a child growing up with a fireplace, I was asked to open or close the flue, took many decades til I realized it was actually a DAMPER.

During the server upgrade I read several posts where you told members to "clean your cache", which included me . I was deleting cookies via my browser but it did not help. I found another method called "cleanmgr" which appears to be my like my old "clean disk" What is your preferred method for cleaning ones cache?

Cookies and cache are different things. My prefered method is to find the empty/delete cache button in your browser's settings.
