    Just tried the ash on a moist paper towel, worked very well.

    If it's a really heavy nasty coating I use the Rutland product (especially true with gas fireplaces) with a buffing wheel attached to a drill. It makes minced meat out of any heavy build up and won't harm the gaskets. Also true about filling the pores in the glass to keep it cleaner for longer, especially with more frequent treatments.

    windex and a cold glazing surface......its only mirrored on the OUTSIDE

    Best thing too clean the glass is the ash from your stove on a paper towel and wet it a little bit, Really works""""""
