Welcome aboard Smokin! You will find the guys and gals here friendly, helpful and a bit crazy. You should fit right in.:)

Eagerly awaiting your results. ttdberg and daffonce have the Okie Gold as well but they have not found any nuggets.

The observation of lots of dust is odd. Mine have virtually none. Might be the least i have ever seen. Welcome aboard.

Thanks. I am going to see how my testers make out and go from there.

The results are in from the first tester (not Smokin). I gave him a bag from the same ton that started the thread.
He said they burn hot and not much ash. He stuck his hand into the burn pot to see what he could dig out and he said the ash was 'cripsy' but fell apart easily when touched. He made some small clinkers . Below is a pic of the sample he gave me. You can break them down into smaller bits with your fingers with a little work.

That doesn't look like something to be concerned about IMHO.

Now, discount this if you like, because I sell the Okie Golds, but yea, dime-sized clinkers aren't something I would lie awake at night worrying about. I've seen banana-sized clinkers from other premium hardwood manufacturers......

my real fear here is that, even though folks "always prefer hardwoods", that the softies will get a bad name from the nuggets
