I suppose that rolling racking would work if you had a straight shot to the stove. I wonder how much it holds??
Great Mitch! I think what Gasifier was getting at was to keep things clean under the rack when you bring it inside. Any idea how much it cost? Certainly doesn't look like it would take long to put it together. Simple design, which I like.
Nice work. My dad has a big garden wagon that he likes to park in his garage. Sort of the same system but I bet he paid a lot more!
Great work saving idea ! Wood looks well seasoned & ready to burn . If you put a piece of plywood on the rack, round the corners to save nicks on the shins Nice wood shed/s (the other one full of wood too? ) ! Nice dual axle trailer! Nice all around set - up
Yup. That and so you don't have to consider if the wood will fall through between the 2xs (Short/odd shaped pieces.) Also would add to strength and stability. A piece of plywood/O.S.B. would seem like it would help in several areas. Very cool idea Mitch. I am thinking/looking into making some rolling platforms to set a box full of wood onto and roll around under my covered porch. Move with tractor forks, set it on rolling platform, then roll to where we want to stack it. Would probably use similar casters, maybe something a little smaller in height because of my limited space under the porch. How do you like those casters Mitch? Do they roll pretty smooth when you have some weight on there? What were they rated for capacity? They look like mighty strong ones.
Nice job Mitch... Where did you get the wheels and the steel loops for the ends? Looks like you have a good variety of wood too....
Ohhh boy... Don't plant that seed with this bunch or there won't be a luggage carrier left at any hotel.... That reminds me, I'm staying at a Holiday Inn express next week....
Neat. How tough does it get to push around when it is fully loaded? (does it want to tip over? is it hard to maneuver?)
Gas-No flat sheet, but can easily add in the future. Backwoods-Put together in a couple of hours. Bought the adjustable wood rack at Rural King, which only came with the metal handles. ($25) Bought the "10" casters/wheels at Harbor Freight. $15 each. Bought some lag bolts $2.40. Had all the wood. Total Cost under $90. I wasn't sure about how stable or how it "wood" roll. So I only did a small first load. But those 10' wheels are the boss. Rolls over gravel great. I used two fixed casters and two swivel. Steers pretty good. It's 7' long and could easily hold 1/4 cord. The wife loves it.
Very stable, even on gravel. Wheels are at 20". It's so convenient, I don't think I'll ever fully load it. It sure is nice not to have to re-stack once it's in the basement.
