Next income tax return is slated towards these and the leaky front door as long as some other chit doesn't come up. We thought about these while the new roof was being installed. But the funds weren't there as we opted for the ridge vent up grade and some more attic insulation. We can go forth with a usable attic(mainly storage) once we can afford materials. Get more cellar space freed up for pellets and such. With the wife not working, Its a bit of a crunch and were sitting on any big new spends for now.

I might be able to do it myself if I can find the goods. Still gonna be hard to part with the cash though. With not knowing what the future holds.

I just loaded up the hopper with the Heatr's. First thing I noticed was that they seem to be not very dense. I can easily fit three bags into my hopper and with these I was struggling and coulnt fit all three in. I will now see how long I can go without cleaning.

I get ya bud. Priorities, for sure. Overall, they're not that expensive, and I'm SURE you can handle it. Each one takes about 30 seconds to install.

Woke up to a little bit of snow this morning. Drove through a few heavier snow squalls between Vanderbilt and Kalkaska. It was starting to stick to the roads in a few spots. It was 45 and dry when I got home.

Just a sign of things to come. Sounds like parts of da UP and northern WI are going to get slapped around with a bit of snow starting tomorrow. image.jpg

Picked up 3 bags of Maeder Brothers pellets made in Weidman, MI. just to see how they do. Anybody heard of them before?

Might take a look at Menards. The Comstock Park store has been stocking AWF hardwood and softwood pellets the past few weeks. Not sure what their other stores in the area are stocking.

I put those in all of my gutters back around 2005. Some of them are starting the curl and lose their shape so I am replacing them a few at a time. The original ones I got did not have screens in the holes, so some debris does get through, and I still had to clean the gutters, however MUCH less often than without them. The replacement guards I have been getting are the ones with screen like yours and I'm thinking they will be a lot better at keeping the debris out. Our house is surrounded by huge pine trees, so the pine needles are the worst offender here...

So far, the ones I have are working great. Not a leaf or twig to be seen.

Question: did you read the label on the new ones you've gotten w/ the screen? I never gave it a thought and put the screen side down, but there are people who left feedback on Lowes saying the screen is supposed to go up.....they said water dripped over the edge with the screen side down. I flipped a few of mine over the doorways to see if it makes any difference.
