I finally had a moment to get the a couple pumpkins I grew cut up and roasting in the oven. I have 2 neck pumpkins (PA Dutch Crookneck) and 2 Winter Luxury pumpkins next in line.

    And ready for the oven:

What is that building the pumpkins are next to? Need more pictures of that.

My house... I'll try and find some more. It's quite the conglomerate of building materials, fashioned into a log house.

This is my empty :( covered porch. Though this pic is from the spring, its still empty. Tuesday's project is to load empty porch. To the right past the window is the pass through, which has a bin to collect/store the wood. Pre-30 I was able to store about 3 days worth of wood in the bin, will see how well it does this year.

This is the view looking southwest from the porch.

So after roasting them, do you freeze them or can them? I usually pressure cooker pumpkins and then can them as they are then ready to add to anything you want to make such as pumpkin pie or muffins.

    PS love the house.

Provincial restaurant called White Spot has been offering Pumpkin cheesecake with toffee sauce and whip cream. It is a good thing is that to have some I have to travel 3 hrs. Doesn't happen often.

I froze the Neck Pumpkins (Pa Dutch Crookneck Squash), about 14 cups from 2 of them. I have one more I will use fresh, and have one winter luxury to use fresh as well.

I was a bit scared when all the pumpkin beer came out in August, knowing FULL well that pumpkins were not done growing. That said, I haven't had any good pumpkin beer as I can't seem to stop buying Bells Two Hearted Pounders :)

    You got Bell's in PA?

I've seen the 16 oz cans, but I can only fit 12 oz in my pint glass(?). Been getting some good canned beers lately. Used to only be Dale's.

Yes the local beer drive through has bells. And quite a selection of canned beers. I prefer them as I don't have trash/recycling pick up, I have to tote it all to the dump. That and bottles are annoyingly loud when cleaning up the next day.
