(Official) 2nd Annual Firewood Hoarders Club Secret Santa Gift Exchange.

It is time for the 2nd Annual Firewood Hoarders Club Secret Santa Gift Exchange.

We did this last year when the site was in its infancy. There were 18 participants and I believe the site membership was at about 150 people then. The site has grown quite a bit and we are looking forward to a lot more participation this year.

The way it works is everybody who signs up is given a recipient to whom you send a gift of some sort. The gift can be anything, it need not be firewood or pellet related. Part of the fun is reading through someone’s posts trying to figure out what they might like. If you are going to the store to buy something the suggested spending limit is $42.88, (Let’s see if anybody can figure out where I pulled that from. And that’s not a hint, I already have one.) Shipping is on you. On the other hand there is no minimum (outside of shipping); creativity reigns and finances exclude nobody. There were some awfully cool handmade gifts passed around last year and I would expect to see that again.

Gift certificates or other electronic entitlements are ok, however I ask that you have them sent to yourself and then forward it on to your victim, open up a new email account to remain anonymous if you wish. That way if there is a problem with non-receipt, spam filters or whatever, you will be able to straighten it out quite easily.

If you would like to participate post a reply in this thread and then send an email to me at [email protected]. The subject of the email is Secret Santa. In the body put your FHC user name along with your real name and mailing address. Signup and this thread will be closed at 9:00 pm EST on November 27th or Thanksgiving for those who are from the US. At that point I will put everyone’s name in the digital hat, shake it up and assign recipients. The list will get adjusted if need be so that no moderator gets a moderator, and so that there are no duplicates from last year. Your assignment will come via the email account that you sent your intention from so please make it an account that you actually read.

Gifts should be sent to arrive by December 18. Please allow time for transit in shipping, we have members on at least 3 continents or nearby islands.

I look forward to your participation. This is going to be a lot of fun. Please look for the official “what I got” thread where you can post your thank you notes. That way every giver knows things were received.
