First load out. This actually came from the trim job from the front two oak trees. They still have the main portion of the back tree standing. So it may be a few days before I get that.
Really?...Sweet! I just knew it was Oak, just figured it was Red since thats typically what we have around here. Whites Oaks are a minority...
Yes, one of the front trees is a pin oak. I don't know what the other is. Its got a long slender leaf. I'll try to take a pic tonight. But the big tree is that and the other tree that got trimmed lastnight is that also. From what I can tell it might be a Shingle Oak.
.... I just got called to call the tree people and it sounds like I've got a bunch of 9"-12" long pieces of wood... Even after all the discussions with them...I'm hoping for the best but expecting a disaster...
Much better than he had let on. We got a nice pile, of the smaller sections. Plus still have the main portion to take down. Now for me to get to work
Here's the portion that I need to get out in the next couple of days. Trailer time I think. Then my portion that I took tonight. So far everything looks fairly decent cuts. Will have to trim a few ends down, but that's to be expected. I'm happier than a pig in a mud lot....Now to find time for splitting....
Chevy, That's a lot of oak you scored... I would be one happy camper.... How much you think your getting there....?
The bark is wrong for BB. The wood looks an awful lot like red oak - think you have some willow oak there.
