    I've got a bunch of white pine that looks a lot like that.
    Most are too big to fit in the stove, so they'll end up in the pit.

    I have some like the 3rd pic, but not quite as ugly as pic 1 & 2 .
    No stacking uglies for you .

    I might finish up splitting today,
    then have to find a place to stack the uglies.
    Will be mostly fire pit wood, & sometimes Spring & Summer stove fires for the
    cool rainy spells to take the chill off.

    Like the idea of a crate, I need to work on that.

    No worries about it getting air circulation with the shapes.
    Probably 40 cubic feet of wood in 128 cubic ft of stacked cord of uglies :)
