Snow falling right now and gusts to 50 mph. Nice warm fire in the stove but I did not bring a big enough load yesterday to keep it going for two days as today was going to be sunny!!!! So it will be out to the wood stacks in the rain and snow in a few hours to keep warm.
No Bills game, but I might have to watch that one... I always like seeing the Pats lose! Cold and windy here too, but at least it's clear skies. Working in that "mixed precipitation" yesterday bit the big one. Can't waste a weekend day though! Too much fun to be had!
Still raining heavy here, temps are in the mid 30's. Burning 24 hrs the last 2 days, kinda liking it. Calling for wet snow as the storm ends...crazy winds still hanging around
That blows...drove to Sioux Falls bucking wind for 6 hours. Dun my thing and turned around and came home. Wind died down on way home and went thru less than 3/4 the gas as the trip down. 25+mph wind
19 this morning but it really warmed up into the 40's this afternoon. We had the wind before most of you got it and today is really nice out there. Wind supposed to return tomorrow or the next day.
Three big spruce down around my house. One on the power line that feeds ONLY my house, power went out just in time for the Pats game and the race. Sitting in the dark, listening to the Pats on the radio, "watching" the race on the ipad wondering how long it will take the power company to get to me. House is warm, big pot of beef stew staying warm on the stove.
Yes I'm quoting myself..lol.. So I got started cutting and splitting today but all I succeeded in doing was making a mess in the driveway. I got warm cutting the wood but the wind was making me freeze while I was sweating. I tried cleaning up the chips I made in the driveway but every time I got the shovel full they blew away..haha.. I gave up around 2:30 and turned to beer.... The Patriots Broncos has been somewhat of a disappointment too.. On the bright side, we purchased all the furniture we need to complete the basement today - we pick it all up next Saturday! And since I gave up outside, this basement is now like watching football in a nuclear reactor since I've had plenty of time to tend the stove!
A couple pics to prove I was a turd today other than the heat from the stove.. That was at one point a full shovel of chips that blew away..lol.. The cats can't wait till tomorrow when I go back to work.. they've about had it with dad and the ridiculous heat..
Nope no power yet, house is plenty warm though, no internet either, supplied by cellular signal, must be no power at the cell towers either, at work now...gonna get a shower here before I go home.
