My thoughts exactly ! To go one further- What's better? 10 rnds. of .22lr on target, or 7 rnds. of .45 that miss? I know that's an extreme comparison, but you get the gist.
I've got a Glock 23 and a Ruger SR1911. The Glock is in the nightstand, but only because I like that I don't have to worry about a safety with it. I can shoot minute-of-bag guy with the Glock, but the 1911 will drive tacks. I should probably sell the Glock and get something else that I shoot better, as other guys shoot my gun well, I just never have. Even after several thousand rounds through it, and several more with a .22 conversion kit installed. And personally, I'm only cleaning my 1911 for the 8th time because it's a gun worth cleaning! The Glock is the AK47 of the handgun world, who cares what it looks like!
I hate the look of any Glock........ That being said I own a few as they all shoot the same and for me they are very accurate. I have had a few pistols that I really like but I had to work to shoot them correctly the Glock on the other hand fits like a glove and seems to aim itself, which for me is the most important thing! I really love my 23 and 19 and don't ever see myself selling them.
My choice for the night stand was my Glock 20 (10mm) for almost 20 years, but the subject title said "fit." I'm a shorts and tee shirt kind of guy and CC every day. Good leather and a thumb safety are a must. Not sure where you can fit the .500 or .454
Had a nice range session after work with some friends today. They're shopping for a defense pistol for her, but she's not familiar with handguns. After some coaching about grip and stance, sight picture and trigger pull, she was hitting a paper plate about 80% of the time at 7yrds with my G-19. She now has expanded her choices to include a 9mm. We'll let her try the LC-9 next week, she should be fine with it but we'll see. BTW- the "impractical thing" was a show stopper. Went through 2 mags just for the folks asking-"What the heck is that, and can I shoot a few rounds?" That one fit everyone.
You mean one of these? This is a llama 380, but same size, also made in Spain fits perfect. The two guns that fit my hands perfect are a cz75 and a BHP. Another would be a nice little J-frame. They just fit.
Anything that goes bang...i love shooting my mossy 935.wit 3.5 " mag blends....also my remmy 700 ltr wit 18.5" shilen match....
Plenty of nice rifles to pick from these days but I'm on my third rem 700 mountain rifle in good ole walnut and blue. I've had a .270, .30-06, and now a .280 This last one I picked up was a NOS in just about 100% shape that was manufactured in 1989There is something to said about the older vintage Remingtons. I do believe they were made with better quality control than current average production models. This .280 is shooting very good with 140gr fusions. The 06 165gr fusion did well by me 3x on average size whitetails, so I'm hoping for similiar results in .280. A leupy vx3 2.5-8x36 is just about perfect on this 700. Good luck hunting everybody.
The 870 with the stock cut down and my H&R that is to long. Was going to cut that stock to but it has a steel bar for balance and am worried about making it unwieldy so I've learned to push it hard against my hunting coat. It's fine in warm weather.
About a month ago my FIL said that he had a shotgun he didn't use and didn't have any room in his safe for, so he asked if I would store it for him and said I could use it whenever I wanted. I was reluctant at first, because I don't want to start a habit of filling up my safe with guns that aren't mine, but agreed. Well, I was over at his house Thursday morning and he handed me a gun wrapped in a gun sock and told me it'll be the best sporting clay gun I'll ever use. I haven't shot it yet, but with some shouldering it at home, I think it may be one of the best fitting guns I've held! It's a Beretta SV10 Prevail I, which is a MUCH nicer gun than I'd ever buy for myself. I doubt I'll hunt with it since it's so easy to scratch a gun in the field (I wouldn't care if it were my own), but I'm pretty excited to knock some clay birds out of the sky with it.
