Does anyone know anything about these? http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ramsond-...gclid=CIzSv_XL2sECFWVp7AodmU0Agg&gclsrc=aw.ds
I've been thinking about buying a small inverter and dedicating it to my stove. I have a 2500 watt Honda generator that I use for the house but I'm not sure it's pure sine wave.
It looks like a pretty decent unit. 9 hours runtime @ 1/2 load...If you're just running the stove you'll get way longer than that.
Here a little more info on it. http://www.ramsond.com/sin2500/ Biggest complaint I've heard is it noisy compared to a Honda. When my Honda quiets I'm probably going with the Ryobi. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-2-...-Digital-Inverter-Generator-RYI2200/203617901
I bought a Champion 2000 watt inverter generator a couple years ago. I don't know if it is pure sine wave, but the stoves sound normal when running off of it. When I used my el cheapo Harbor Freight 2 stroke generator the motors in the stoves sounded like they were going to explode. It was the same price as the unit you're looking at. My favorite part is that it's quiet and sips fuel. I can run it on Eco mode and it might use a quart of fuel overnight when it's just running the stove and a lamp or two. I'd be curious to know how the unit you're looking at performs.
I've had my 2500 watt Honda since 1997 and all I've ever done to it is change plugs, oil, and add gas. Still runs great.
Used a 2004 Honda Civic as a generator back in 2011. Over 130,000 miles and can still provide emergency power, and pick up the groceries. Maybe at 200,000 we replace it.
I heard one at a local fair last year. Not sure what it was powering but it was quiet. Extremely quiet. I have my Champion standard generator running right now through my UPS and the quality is good enough to not trip to battery or the AVR. Your Honda is probably just as good if not better.
I've seen a similar generator sold under a couple different brands. I bought a Generac 2K portable from Northern Tool about three years ago. I don't use it much but it works good. I use it at a few swap meets for power. It will charge my Milwaukee tool batteries without problems something that I had problems with with another generator. I paid $389.00… now it's $589.00… yikes!
