Just finished building my new wood shed....just in time because I just lit my first fire of the season. The closed side of the shed is for storing my splitter, chainsaws, etc. There are double doors in the back with a ramp to get the splitter in/out. There are also double doors and stairs in the front for access for other things. The open bays hold 5 cords. My firewood dries out in single stacks and wood to be burned this winter goes in the shed. I have just under 5 cords loaded in it now. Left bay is pine and maple, right bay is cherry and oak. All wood is about 16-17% MC: Some build pix... Truss factory in my garage: Framed: I framed a doorway in the back of each firewood bay. About 1/3 of my firewood racks are behind the shed so every 3 years I will be loading the shed from the back. The boards that cover the doorways are screwed in so every 3 years I can just unscrew them and load it from the back instead of carting all the wood around to the front. Working on the roof: My nephew helped my shingle the roof. Other than that I built it by myself. Took me 6 weekends, but I like how it came out and it meets just what I needed. I need to see if I can get the shed sponsored by Diet Mountain Dew, Wachusett Green Monster IPA, and Advil....its what I lived on to build it.

Ask and ye shall receive: I still have to add shelves to store chainsaws, oil, gas, etc. It might look a little tight, but it is only to store the splitter and get it out of my garage....so my truck can get back in there.
Free btu's, you can be proud of a job well done. About the only thing I could suggest is to put an eave trough on the front in order to direct the water so you don't end up with ice right in front or even water or melting snow to contend with when going in and out. I like the idea of shelves for the saws and other tools.
I got the dolly on sale at harbor freight for like $40 several years ago. I got it to move my empty boat trailer into a tight storage area. Comes in handy moving the splitter around the yard. The floor in the back back of the shed is only like 10" off the ground so the ramp is very shallow and the splitter pulls up it very easy.
Nice job and that's coming from someone that has been building for 30 years now. You should be very proud of your shed I would be. Makes me want to get off my butt and get started on a shed. But the wife has other plans first like a pool house then maybe the wood shed
Thanks! I'm an electrical engineer and dont have any formal contruction training but i have learned a lot over the years doing different projects at home. Being an engineer I tend to overbuild stuff, but then as my father would say, do it right, do it once.

You have the Pine and Maple on the wrong side. lol, That is a great looking wood shed, be proud of that one.
