Fired my "thou that should be nameless" stove last night too and enjoyed me some good heat! Tis good to have dry wood!
Fired up last evening as temps are headed down, down, down. Probably the start of 24-7 season here. We are usually into that @ the beginning of the month so this makes up for some of last winters prolonged push. Everybody stay warm.
I would say that I had a "nameless stove" before this one, but then someone might go back through my old messages and figure out what kind of stove that actually was.
Yep, we are on our third stove. The first was a Lopi Answer, which is a great stove but too small for us-- gave it to Grizzly's Paw for his garage. Then the... And now we have the Drolet Myriad, which I am loving!
Not bad yesterday,62 by 2PM.But that changed overnight - a blustery 31 degrees right now, wind chill of 19.High later of 42,low tomorrow morning of 23 expected with high of 45.Finally a hard freeze, its about 2 weeks later than usual this Fall. Warm in here thanks to more of that scrap Cherry,Walnut chunks/uglies & some long dead Redbud thanks to my neighbor.
59!?? What, were you out of town? 59 ain't gonna happen in here if there's any way to avoid it. I'm a sissified soodo-southerner. Well, a man certainly has the right to think what he wants, be it right or wrong.
I like to keep it a little on the chilly side, don't have a need for keeping a fire going when we aren't home during shoulder season.
If it was 59 in here, my fingers would only be able to type at half speed! In my book, that's about the right temp for hand-splitting wood.
Well I wasn't sitting around in 59-- i started a fire. It was in the mid-60s when we left that morning.
Just read an article about "The Asian Pellet Beetle" that can get into your pellets! I highly recomend that rather then taking that chance that you bring them to me to dispose of, I am currently set up to dispose of them by properly incinerating them. Currently I am not charging for this service but this will probably have to change. Gary
