Dropping down to the low 40's so u know what that means. Fire time . Gotta keep the kids warm . Gonna try and install the blowers This weekend. Suppose to get a mix of snow and rain this weekend. Stay warm people
Chillean this morning, the southern humid 36F cold snap coming tomorrow. Trailer is staged with some punky oak and pine - house was 67 when I got home.... warm and toasty 76 now, going to have an overnight fire, GF will be returning tomorrow from a 3wk visit of her ailing mother so things should be a bit easier around here.
48º out now, 38º overnight predicted. Mid 40's tomorrow and back down to low 30's then rain and snow. Buck's chompin on some cherry. Red oak and elm on deck.
Still working on the shorts, uglies and cookies. Which tonight happen to be ash, black birch and red oak. I know there is some Norway maple and cherry piled up with the incorrigibles but they haven't come to the top yet.
50f and burning pine and some ugly and short oak from a free load I picked up already cut. Think 2 years ago?
38 degrees, pretty much the coldest air of the year so far. Got that wonderful North wind blown down the back of the shirts. I'm working some walnut to start the fire, but mulberry and honey locust to carry the load....
Well, winter isn't far away. It still doesn't seem fair that it was 80 and sunny Monday when your forecast looks like this:
Gasifier, yes you are correct. I had a shop called Lake Norman Choppers just North of Charlotte. I built some customs and did repairs on Harleys and Custom Bikes. I like the area here, been here for 14 years now. I would post some pics of some of the bikes here but I did that yesterday and my post got deleted.
Yep, it's slidin' down this way, too. Temp falling throughout the day, below freezing tonight with a nasty NW wind. Stoves are fired now as a preemptive measure. Red Elm along with some Oak chunks workin' here, and White Ash over there in the mighty Buck.
First fire of the season last night, down to 41* house was a bit chilly when I got home from work. My corgis watched intensly while I fired the stove up and my new pup was barking at it . It's all new to him, he was born in May.. starting off with my older gum and hackberry for the shoulder fires
I could do without the rain/sleet/snow, but I'm ready for a good freeze to kill all the weeds and bugs in the woods.
