Why did you buy your brand of pellet stove?

At the house in the living room I have a Mt Vernon freestander. Awesome unit and worth the money if in the budget. In the dinning room a quad isle royal wood stove. I think the best wood stove I have found. Yes HHT made a hell of a deal with me but I will not blow smoke up my customers chimney about the stoves I sell.

In the store is a CAB-50, best stove for the money and my most popular utility stove. A Classic Bay my most popular selling living room stove and a P43 the second most popular stove.

I have sold some other brands and worked on about ever different stove there is but I like what I sell. Now that i preached I am going to bed.

I have a bucket of parts that keeps me warm and some of the heat even makes it upstairs and keeps the water lines from freezing (at least down to -18 F), the stove had a few teething pains long since rectified.

I was originally only looking for something to make my den habitable in the winter without having to run the heating zone for this room and the master suite.

As a bonus I discovered you can do metal working in one of these devices.

Now Mr OP have you started your classes for the season yet?

Not me, you are the one with all of the non-functioning customer stoves with things like 6 blinks and flashing number 2 leds. I'm just a lowly pellet stove cleaner and general PITA.

PITA, ha ha, you don't have an exclusive on that. I've been practicing it just a few more years! I've moved from general to major PITA when I am trying to make a point.

I am trying to prevent the dreaded 6 blink and flashing #2 LED. Generally those are user errors from not cleaning their unit (remember children, always clean your unit) by preaching proper installation, cleaning and preventive maintenance. Does it always work????

Now only if I can do these ever popular "webinars" on proper cleaning. Where would I find a computer geek that could set up such a program/process? Always looking to keep the public educated and informed and in the process pay my rent and buy a beer or twelve every now and then.

You must understand Eric that placing something out there on the interwebby thingy usually does little to prevent things.

People are basically lazy and stupid, things never concern them until they get hit upside the head with it or are freezing to death. That is why they don't read the manuals and only consult the installation instructions after the house has gone up in flames or down that formerly dry old river bed.

Hey, I resemble that remark !! Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk

And what is wrong with my new garage being on the dry old river bed anyway? It has been dry for at least a year now. That's where I store my dry pellets :D

my decision was easy, i build em. and my wife has a "live in" technician with guaranteed same day service:whistle:
    cheap service at that:D

gang, i'll tell ya. there are a ton of great stoves from quality manufacturers out there. ive had the chance to learn a lot about them from an insider's back in 08 i got to go to my first HPBA trade show (the big show) in Atlanta. i was like the kid in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, walked around in amazement at the stuff the industry had brought out to show off. met Dane Harman that first day managed to chat with him for a few minutes without embarrassing myself and asking for an autograph. Dane is a GIANT in the industry and a larger than life dude (seriously, he is)

anyway back to da stoves, the ratio of great products v/s not great products out there heavily favor the great ones. even the lower end stoves these days have features that a decade ago were only available in the high end brands. i for one am a huge fan of harman stoves , even though i don't work for them, obviously i love my products as well, still there are many more out there which are serious appliances. happy shopping folks!

My wife used to require cheap, 24/7, same day service… but we were both much younger…

Welcome Mike… good to have you around.
