After hauling some rounds today my back is killing me. I was looking on CL and found this winch setup, looks like it would need a gas engine install?

You could use the hydraulics on your splitter.

Well then, that winch looks like it has everything needed but an engine and half a lovejoy.

The seller had an 8 hp gas engine on it, he's asking $475 obo or trade. I'm looking for set up to mount on the front end of a trailer with an I-beam/trolley.

That is what I need for my tractor! I have been wanting to build one sort of like that for winching logs up out of the ravine. Seems like a decent price for the whole setup.

It's not mine, just something I saw when looking for ideas for the splitter I'm building.

Must be in Germany then!! Typical "German" scenario. A $200k brand new tractor, a $20k wood processing machine, an engineer right out of school making $250k, wearing brand new digs costing the "state" $1,200 each, $940 boots, $300 Kevlar gloves, all fancy colored in bright German colors, and all they could find to use it on was one 35" stump!!

I'd hop on that one pretty quick! Is there a (hyd) pump included?

Sweet Chebby/Jimmy! You must be "out west" from the look of those 2 trucks and the lack of rust. That vintage is worth surprising $$ east coast.

So I picked up the winch today, pump/cable included. I traded an item for it so I think I did ok on the deal. The tank is an old fuel tank so I might need to rethink it's use, maybe add a filter? :)

Yep. It's also a crew cab, one ton on the passenger side, and a reg. cab 1/2 ton on the driver's side! :D

Here's what it looks like from the back! It's a very patriotic truck!
