Another load of cherry to finish my quick dry stack, This should more than make up for last years over use. That long stack is mostly cherry, red elm and some walnut 3 1/2 x 6 x 24 = 3.9 cord, Always gets me how much they shrink in time. sunday05.jpg Lost my pickaroon in the dang woods somewhere, seen a few on here talk about this one and I must say its a dandy, the longer thin axe like handle sure makes it nice for reach (HIPPS TOOL hand made in PA) the tool steel used must be some good stuff hasn't bent and stays super sharp csstool4.jpg csstool2.jpg csstool3.jpg My pumpkin carving skills…. Scotty I'm not LOL sunday08.jpg
My help is getting better Dennis, two T-posts instead of three !:D cribb1.jpg

Great looking stacks you have there Todd! Cherry looks great too. I'm burning some lately and it does dry real nice. I think that red elm is pretty great firewood also, lots of BTU's.

Nice to have a mixture of wood isn't it...:)

The mix is nice, the worst part is slow dry stacks and separate fast dry, I hate oak until it seasoned that is :)

Yes that was a 1 truck full tree + as a matter of fact that is the first leaner I have dropped the opposite way using wedges to push it against its lean. a lot of what I drop has to weak of center for a good hinge to control drop with wedges. I must have studied 30 videos on it before I attempted it.

Thanks, I am hoping this dry spell stays around a while also, got the biggest ends of three red oaks still down in the bottom to get out, hope your new spot works out.

    Nice load
    Great pics

Try some flo-pink duct tape. Couple strips on the handle
I put it on almost everything I take to the woods.
That color stand out for me, helps me spot/find stuff on the ground

Very nice Todd. Just think, after this year cutting it down to 2 t-posts, next year you may get by using none! That center row looks great.

You are right on the pickeroon. They are a very handy tool. I even use ours to move a log. I've not made a new gate and fence after having to tear them out a few years ago so just drug a couple logs there to keep people out. If I want to move one, the pickeroon comes in very handy for the moving.

Pickeroons are one of those tools where you don't know what you're missing till you have one. Then you wonder how you got along without one. They sure do make moving wood around easier

Nice to see more of the Hipps Tools pickaroon getting around. Did you talk to them Todd, or just order from their EBay account? Good folks to chat with.
