I see pros and cons on each brand and corresponding price. We need a budget stove at the moment...

If you can look at all the stoves in question, do that look at the quality vs. price. Steel thickness, door latches, draft mechanisms, etc. Just guessing, I would think the Englander and Drolet might have the edge, but I'm not sure about that.

I spent a lot of time looking at Drolet and Englander, and we ended up with an Drolet. In our area we got it for a couple hundred less than Englanders were going for, and seemed to be the same quality. We've been very happy.

I have read hours of reviews on stoves and the Englander and Drolet seem to be about equal pro'ed and con'ed with the Englander having the most reviews. I would personally pick the Englander unless the deal was to good to turn down on the Drolet, a good stove also.
At the moment (in one form) means to me you may replace it down the road, the Englander would probably be your best reseller, They are very popular.

Just curious does the eco65 keep up?

I have friends with the englander nc30 HANDS DOWN BEST SERVICE POSSIBLE......

I also have friends with a drolet and it is a very nice stove I believe made by SBI which is another great company.

Don't buy vogelzang either been there done that bad bad bad lol. That is hands down the biggest investment in a almost uncontrollable piece of scrap metal we ever made.. I hate to admit this but they don't have bad service they just make subpar stoves.

Another good brand I've heard some good reports on is pleasent hearth. I'm not to sure who makes them but they are at some of the TSC stores around here and they too are built well.

Avoid US Stove Company (USSC) not matter how good a deal you think it is.

Thank you, thats exactly why I have been asking, there are no stoves to look at in person.... I was leaning the same direction, englander/drolet.

Eco-65 is keeping up great so far, but we are having a mild fall (lol we have been using lower settings since install!). Need to be prepared for when the winds and cold become constant and the other side of the house needs heat. My husband was working in Rawlins (the closest TSC) a few months ago, but we did not know at the time we would be replacing the old BK.

Out here now the englander is a few hundred less than the drolet, interesting.

Menards and Northern Tool here. Home Depots have the Englander and sometimes they go on sale, but the one in our area doesn't carry stoves.

NC-30 and Drolet Myriad or Austral are great stoves. Both about same actual usable size.

I noticed Home depots have free shipping on NC-30 too store now.

Menards has free shipping too store on their stoves

Menards in Cheyenne and Casper both have the Myriad in stock. And the 11% Rebate.

When i was trying to get the one at the end of last season menards wouldnt order one in without me paying freight shipping. Thats why i went with Northern Tool.

They wont ship it too you but they will ship it to the store free unless there is special locations that wont ship to store free as the reason why is they have trucks coming to the store every 2 or 3 days anyways they just put a stove from their warehouse on the truck thats bringing in other stuff.

We bought one of our previous stoves a Vogelzang Durango from them and had to pay shipping to the store... It was still worth the price at the time but we did have to pay to the store. I have 6 Menards within two hours of me. I wouldn't bank on free shipping to the store.

I am thinking you have to order it online to get the free shipping. If you order it at the store they may not offer it or the employees may not know about it. I just went to your local Iowa store online and looks like most of the stoves are free ship to store option but the ones that are in stock at the store dont show the free ship to store option which makes sense.
