I'm trying to find a book on "trees of the Adirondacks". Does anyone have one or know where I can find one? Thanks in advance.
A book by that title or a book that will help you id trees in the 'daks. If the latter, then the Audubon book is a good one.
"Trees of the Northern United States and Canada" by John Laird Farrar is pretty good. It's very complete for the native trees in our area; really good descriptions and pics of bark, leaves, winter buds, etc, so it's helpful even when you're trying to ID in winter.
The Sibley Guide to Trees is awesome. Same guy wrote the definitive field guide to birds, and recently did the same for trees. My sister got it for me as a gift, I didn't even know I wanted it and now I can't live without it. I can't recommend it highly enough. http://www.amazon.com/Sibley-Guide-...4376723&sr=8-1&keywords=sibley+guide+to+trees
