Friendly new guy? Stumbled across your "neighborhood" earlier this month, signed up & just made my first post over in the eq. section. I recognize some of the folks here from another "place" but I had a different handle there. Been burnin' for 30+, splitting' with a just as a old splitter I made. I'm partial to all the toy's associated with f/w, and am burning with a "gasser" boiler with radiant heat. I have about 14/15 c,s,s (about) I don't really worry about it much as long as I know I have at least the upcoming seasons wood dry & ready. I have been slacking this fall with my wood, but used the time in the shop building something for the tractor that will greatly help the wood effort in the future. Look forward to b/s ing with you in the future. It seems that y'all like pics, If I must... I think (while waiting for my hughesnet to upload) I might be scerwing up the pics. Is there a limit per post?I picked out about 5 or so. Much better with a saw than with a computer!
Welcome to FHC. We have no limit on the amount of pics. Feel free to post other screen names people may know you by.
Welcome to FHC Fuel, This is the Gooder "place" Very nice build, how does she work ? and some pics are missing if there were 5 or so, get some closer of that arm, very nice.
Is that a winch? That thing is sweet! Looks like you got all the right toys to do some serious logging! Welcome to the club! Looks like you've come to the right place! Glad you found us!
Wow, lot's of nice words there fellas! Thank you all. Savage, it is 711mhw on another wood burning site, also where I recognize some of you. Seems like a much friendlier site here, maybe a little more down to earth, (but not badmouthing' them). That winch is what has taken up my wood time this fall, I think it was worth it. This afternoon was the first that I really used it. I had pulled a couple of uprooted leaners that have been bothering me, just getting a feel for things. Late today after some time on the next years wood pile, I dropped a couple of Beech that looked like they had that "canker" or Beech bark disease. Let it go to long & the wood is junk. I was very happy with how it worked. There was a small Ash that was there as well so I was able to grab the 2 Beech, one cut in half, and the Ash with one pull. Sorry I was to into it to take any pics. Here's a few more wood pics. Oops, just got called for supper, steaks cooked on the grill, with wood of course, pics after supper!
Ok, Any of you guy's cook (meat) on real wood? I'm telling ya it'll shame a gas grill or charcoal. And Momma does it all, I just supply the wood & cooking grill. It's not nearly as fast but hey, it's Sunday right?
