Yep, Most of us old farts do a ton and wait a week or 2 in between. Drinking lots a brews while ya recoup sure helps the aches and pains. Sounds like your area is similar to ours. Pellets are getting scarce the colder it gets. If anyone has some, Its usually the crap no one wants. Glad ya got a full stash and can sit back and watch the others scurry for whats left.
I have a 1981 rusty but trusty, love it as much as you do yours!! I would still be in if god hadn't blessed us with a baby! (airbags, belting in child car seats....) Even when it broke I could always get home......
It's scary around her already! They tried dumping Mid Michigan Pellets on me at the place I ordered from originally.... I spent the better part of the day buying and moving them from Family Farm and Home because they are honestly my man crush store. They where going to deliver but there time keeps getting pushed back farther and farther so I picked em up.. Playing it safe and getting them before they are gone. They gave me a good discount too!
The truck was a royal pita last winter everything went wrong so it got a new motor, transmission, exhaust, complete suspension job front and back, and on and on lol. I really do love the old girl though. It can haul like a champ! That 3/4 rear and supped up 350 make that truck a monster...
Why did you not just put them in that beast of a truck? Yea that trailer I bet was groaning!!! Do those tires have the load capacity to take advantage of that axle?
Yep, you've got the pellet bug now. Last year I did three tons in one day. Half ton at a time. Loaded them in the truck at the store, unloaded at home, wash, rinse, repeat. The full size truck this year made life easier. Only took four trips to bring home four tons.
Because the truck is very tall I can back the trailer right next to the pallet in the garage but I never would have gotten the truck inside the garage with a pallet on board.... The tires are 999 lb tires each which does most of what I need them too. I am going to get 1300lb tires before the year is out though I think that pushed the limit a little close lol.. It was a white knuckle ride part of the way.
If I could have gotten the truck in the garage loaded I'd have done two tuns. Of course my brakes probably would have given out then.
Worth it!! Done that too with all the above except transmission, original transfer case chain. And soooooo many more parts. They are worth it. We tallied up 20 years of repairs and divided by the miles we drove her (dependable miles!) and actually came out ahead despite the gas mileage Besides, bet the seats are molded to your back side by now, right? Comfy! My husband can fix most mechanical issues on it too. He opens the hood of my new truck and his eyes boggle. Fixable is gooder
You are right! I am a firm believer in paid off cars.... I fix em till they literally fall apart and I can't anymore. My 2001 blazer gives me enough headaches even though it's considered low tech by today's standards!
3 ton of Pro Pellet will make for a very enjoyable burning season Pete! You may find yourself being lazy and not loading the wood stove in the morning, or the evening. . Pellet burning is very enjoyable, when done right, with a quality pellet, and good technique. Don't run the stove on a super high setting. Your gonna want to run a middle of the road setting. This makes the stove run a little longer, but gives the room a good "soak", to allow the articles within the home to absorb the heat. Rather than run on High and just heat the air up really quick. As for burning wood, I still burn about 3 cord of wood, but use large loads and burn them a little faster/hotter than most to get a large mass of heat in the basement. We could probably burn 6-7 cord in the 30-NC, but with the pellet eaters, I do just enough to keep the basement warm and the floors warm. They keep me lazy.. Burning wood is a lot like work.. And its messy too
