Answered a Craigs List ad over the weekend and this is what I've gotten so far. Two separate locations only 5 minutes from the house. A tree service that's way behind due to the rainy weather. Some of the stuff needs cutting to length but the stacked stuff is very moist and very, very heavy. I think it's white mulberry, but I'm not sure. Help please. IMG_0191.jpg IMG_0193.jpg

    So how'd I do??? IMG_0190.jpg

Looks good. Can't go wrong with free wood even though we bust our butts to CSS

Looks like mulberry to me. The true give-away would be if you found the second type of leaf mulberry is known for.

Very few leaves around. I think the tree guy chipper/shreaded all the real small stuff. Going back tomorrow AM for some more mulberry. Won't be able to get all of it, because I cannot move the bigger stuff. This mulberry was all stacked neatly on a church property, and I don't want to make a mess cutting/noodling the big stuff.

You done good. Mullberry grows wild like weeds around here. There are young mullberry trees popping up everywhere. Excellent firewood and it grows fast too.

An Hour With Mr. Fiskars X-25!!!

I couldn't believe how easy this mulberry split!!! The bigger rounds 14-16" actually split a lot easier than some of the smaller pieces!!! Swear to God that it only took right at an hour to split that stack from my OP!

Your pix look closer to what my wood looks to my eye. My picture was taken in the shade at about 10AM this morning. It does look darker than it actually is.

Very good....... Good smoking wood also (kinda mimics apple wood)... Watch out for the firebugs that pop out while burning it....
