Right where I want to be.
He might even enjoy plowing with something like that.
    I know I would.

Leasing was a gooder idea. Can use it for a while to see how it works for you. Cool. Will the actual rig you have be enclosed with the plow?

He said he added a plow and winch, and cargo box. Not enclosed, he will be bundled up when using it, and likely his ski goggles needed for splitting wood in fierce winds. I might take for a spin during the summer :dex:

cross your fingers for us! He thinks if he keeps up with the drifts before they become too high it will help. Especially the ones infront of his garage door. Then IF we get totally snowed in a for a few days like last year he can atleast get to town on it incase of an emergency. Big Boy Toys.....

Juz make sure you always have the camera ready to go... :ithappened: He might want to get a small piece of Lexan tied on for a windshield during the winter. Below 20 degrees, the wind is just too much... and driving to town... wow... :shiver:

Not to be a downer, but you wont be plowing 10' of snow with that. Or driving it over that kind of snow to town (unless you invest several thousand in a set of Tatou tracks)

Ive been ATVing and Snowmobiling for almost 30 years now.. An Atv will sink up to the housings in deep snow without tracks. A SxS is also a heavy bugger, so it is much harder to get out when stuck too.

For plowing, an ATV is alright (I used to use an ATV plow), if you keep at it before it builds and its not hard packed. Big drifts are very hard to deal with on a ATV plowing. You need to go back and forth taking little bites, chipping away at it.

With a plow you eventually run up with narrow driveway syndrome, where you have no where to put the snow.

V plows for ATVs are available and can help immensely with cutting that first pass up a heavily snowed drive.

Its too late now, but I would have said to get a Hydraulic adjustable plow like a Boss or Fisher V and put it on your Pickup. A decent used plow can be had for $2500 or new for $6000 ish. Plowing in a cab with heat and radio is hard to beat. The new minute mount type plows can be installed and removed very easy, which eliminates the issue of having a plow wearing on the vehicle when its not needed.

More money but even better would be a good condition cabbed tractor with snowblower. The blower can handle big drifts and eliminates the narrow driveway syndrome.

Plowing heavy snow over 2 miles, with an open station SxS in a snowstorm will be the definition of not fun.

I miss my plow truck. I got rid of it when too many people wanted to use it for them and their friends and left it for me to keep fixed. I won't go out in a storm, nope, no way, no how! Storms make me very anxious. My boys just love going out in it. Now have a f 150 that doesn't take a plow. I have a snow thrower that works. Kids will come home and dig the old man out if I wait Lon enough.
That ATV looks to be a lot of fun. Three of my four kids have them. Mostly use them for joy riding. One of my boys uses his to push snow. I don't know how you'll handle 10 ft of snow. I hire a front end loader when it gets extreme or I need to move the snow banks back.

Blowers work well on the flat.New neighbors(recenltly retired from florida) bought a atv and blade. We tried to tell them, but the other new neighbor from jersey said it would be fine(which means they are going to try and just do their driveway and not help out on the 3 miles of jeep trail we call a road.Another piece of crap neighbor.Once they get the berms left in front of their drive and it freezes they will learn.Best cheap rig--any heavy 3/4 or 1 ton truck, old style metal plow,4 chains, rear locker,1000 lbs in bed.

For that distance of plowing buy a commercial V-Plow and put it on your Duromax. Quick on and off and plow through most drifts without issue. With husbands time when weather is bad he can plow a little more often so they don't get to 10 feet! o_O

Razors are hot rods.Rhinos are the work machines. The people up here that have rhinos sold the plows and put track kits on them.So now they can go anywhere, slowly and noisily.Vibration so bad you cannot have an open beer! But they have cabs, heaters, doors!
