Ironworker had some fun late in the day swinging some Swedish and Austrian steel, doing some splitting-testing.

Seems likelihood of that happening is high with the required ferocity of swing with one of those art-nouveau twisted Finnish things. Not so much when you can kinda modulate things- pull your punches when you don't need to crush it, like with the 2.5 kg Wetterlings on the left, or a 3 kg Mueller. Matt was having good effect with both.

Nothing like a little "piling on", eh?

Meanwhile, a 6 lb Council Tools maul arrived. Really good tool steel, cost a small fraction of fiskars. Couple minutes edge polishing and it looks really good in initial testing. More after Nor'easter and I can get into some bigger cherry.
