Oh the humanitee... :D 4 hours might be an accurate average time here in Maine, when we lose power. Usually in the winter. When we get the hot water rains in Feb, then a freeze up... the power crews get at it and do a great job. We've got a couple linemen on this forum. They're pretty laid back about what they do. Never met one who wasn't a class act. Might be where "Git R Done" really came from... ;)

My neighbor has the Genny going within 15 minutes so the kids can play video games. I wait until the fridge starts to get warm.

Have gone 3-4 days without power. Aside from no water (well has no backup power) it's not too bad.

Usually when we lose power, it's for a while. For whatever reason, our side of the street is the only pocket in about a 20 mile radius that our company serves. Their main customer base is about 20 miles away. Everyone around is has georgia power, I don't know why we don't :hair:

That wasn't my intention for the post, he knocked out the whole neighborhood because of his carelessness. Normally I wouldn't glorify someone's misfortune but this guy is not a very nice person or neighbor and he does things like this all the time. It gets a little old after 12 years!

And the video camera for you tube.

I had one neighbor try to drive his excavator out of the driveway with out looking up. The boom was catching the telephone lines and holding him back... Instead of stopping he tried to push through them three time before I got his attention. The line didn't come down but he messed something up because it took the telephone company a week to get my phone working right. I couldn't get any incoming calls but when I called out a different neighbors number shows up on caller ID.

Nothing good about it either! We are in total darkness every time. This year I bought a geni. That should mean no more power outages.

Nothing to see here. We are surrounded by trees and the hill. The pets sit close by when the power is off. I have some battery packs so I can use my smart phone to access the net. When trees and wires are down over a dead end road, you are just plain stuck where you are. Even when I call, nothing gets done. Low priority. I miss my plow truck in those situations.
