That is me bucking, and I do dabble in tree work at times, but I had the pros handle these! Incredible price!
Stihls, what model Im not sure...... but ran a 16"bar up top (I think) and a 24"-28" about half way down. He was hurtin by the time he got to the bottom........
I believe it, climbing is hard work. The crew I worked on put me up a tree once, maybe 30 feet. Just to show me the ropes. I pruned the young sprouts on the way down and was BEAT when I hit the ground. It uses muscles that you just don't use on a regular basis. Major respect for the guys that go up in a huge oak and don't come down for a couple hours on a daily basis
Look at all the wood laying around WS... How do you like the new "look" around the house without those trees?
I checked the earthquake site: "Small quake in Eastern Pa, " "surface tremor from a large tree, suspect "Hickory" "summary : Well seasoned is at it again " LOL
The new look is nice because its wood.......... but i need to get it cleaned up or it will drive me nuts. Tomorrow, i plan on bucking the rest while Dawn stacks this years oak (again, since having the hickory dropped was a last minute decision, as opposed to having all the hangers pieced down). I will then stage the rounds to be processed at a later time. I have a few projects that HAVE to get done before the snow flies. This has been one of the busiest summers/fall for projects ever. When finally done, beers will be in hand.
Woods in Nebraska? By time I got to Lincoln I didn't see a tree till some elevation in Colorado..lol.. I suppose eastern Ne had some trees..
A few BIG cottonwoods grow near water. Then there is mulberry with barbwire growing thru it along the fence rows. But our ( few ) ash trees are still ok.
