Try to wet sand what you already have with 400 grit

I've heard of people using headlight restorer kits.

Will get some more pics soon. Thought of wet sanding might have to give it a try. Never thought of the headlight restorer kits if I can get the deep scratches smoothed out that would shine it up good.

Toothpaste on headlights works better than those over priced kits at part stores. Rub on and hand buff off.

That might bring a brighter shine after wet sanding.

Yeah I've used toothpaste on headlights never had one of the kits. I did see one that had wet sanding pads and polish in the same kit for really bad lenses so maybe sanding then polishing will work.

Repel bug spray works well on headlights.

I use Maguire's tire shine gel on saw plastic.

Never heard the bug spray one before. Used to use tire shine or baby oil on the dirt track car and mx bikes to keep the mud from sticking worked really well.

I have not put any on my saws yet but I use this on the plastic of my vehicles. It is like SPF40.

I think it would be good for keeping the plastic on a saw from fading.

A couple light coats brings the shine right back. No polishing needed.

Went to a garage sale and bought a couple shelves full of cleaning supplies and auto wax for ten bucks and thought of this thread. VERY impressed with a product called Vinylex by LEXOL. I have used their products for shoes. They are high end so no surprise its good stuff. I used it on plastics and rubber on a couple saws. Excellent. Here is another one for rubber: Rubber Care by Wurth.

Edit: the Vinylex has a DH-60 UV rating...what ever that means.
