Actually the reason I started this was the following pics of the view. The colors are just past peak but still nice. Too bad it was an overcast and crappy day.

On an adjacent field when the air is clear you can see 40 miles. From this point you can only see 20. Today visibility was very bad.

    About 20.

I meant to make a lot more but the snow got so deep in December I couldn't get in the woods the balance of the Winter.

I plan to do a LOT better this year.

Well the natural gas never seems to run out. My insurance Co. put the kibosh on the wood burner in the garage.

The Insurance Co. wasn't concerned about a stove in the house, the combustibles in the garage were another matter. So I am no longer a wood burner but still a wood producer.

I've got a 2nd place to cut on this year. It and the previous place from last year are going to get logged as soon as the crops are out and the ground is frozen. I have access to this 4WD tractor and logging winch. There are ice chains for the tractor.

That wood is Hickory my man. My favorite #1 wood.

I loved the wood stove in the garage but now it is history. I now have a natural gas 75,000 BTU ceiling mounted furnace. I will keep it just above freezing till I am out there. It will warm up fast.

IF I were to heat the house, it would be with an OWB. With the cost and restrictions it would be hard to justify since we now have natural gas. Just yesterday in the paper there was an article about Big Brother clamping down on OWB's.

If we get another winter like last year, it would be KILLING me to be selling all that nice hickory to pay the gas man!
