The IS was installed today. The paint cure burn set off 2 smoke alarms.

The ringing alarm clock sound went for a few minutes during cold start. Not loud but noticeable. We cannot see the bottom of the cat combustor because beneath the cat is a stainless steel can (part of the smoke path labyrinth leading to the cat).

The bare cement around the poured terracotta pad will be black tiled but I couldn't wait that long to post. Got the stove to backpuff, but then it's 65 degrees out now- better draft in cold weather will help with that. IMG_20141013_131907_622-1.jpg
The windows and doors are all open, the IS has a minimal load and it's HOT in here. Pretty sure this unit will keep us warm all winter.

Beautiful stove Gark. She looks like she was made for that spot.

I'm waiting on my IS. It's supposed to be on the build schedule this week. I've got the hearth all ready for it, now I need a stove!

Saw your name pop up this weekend and wondered how long it would take you to post on this thread! Welcome to the forum, looking forward to pics. We both must be obsessed, since we're up past midnight and posting about our new stoves. :) Good luck on the install.

Congratulations on your new IS Gark, looks great on your hearth. Cool design, did you choose that from WS or did you send that in yourself?

Here are some hearth construction photos. I was going for a floating look with the flagstones.

Thanks, My IS. The schooners and color choice (both standard from WS website) were chosen by my wife. Another reason I look forward to having the IS will be clean burn. Just this little run had absolutely no smoke from the chimney - the combustor works awesome and (never had a secondary stove before) the fireback display is mesmerizing.

Well, there is one less IS at Woodstock to get in their way.... yep, mine shipped today! This is better than Christmas! :) Should be here Mon. or Tues. I would think, and then a quick trip to a local establishment to pick it up.

I think I will light the match now, just to be prepared.

Waiting somewhat impatiently for mine! Gathered all my DVL pipe and gauges. Have really enjoyed this thread. I recently inquired as to progress in identifying a probe thermometer for the cat, they said there was just too much to do right now with production demands. Nice of them to add a probe port....but I will definitely want to add a probe soon as possible.

Whalen congratulations on your new IS, nice of you to join the club of a few WS IS owners. I think you will really enjoy
what this stove can do for you. I have been following this stove since the betas came out last season, nothing but good stuff coming from it. Chime in anytime, ask questions, make comments and join along

Yeah, the word I got when I asked about the probe length (Easy Boys!) was that there was no commercial solution available yet. The person I spoke to thought some stove thermometer might be working on one. I plan on using a thermocouple and they come three feet long so that won't be a problem. :)

I can snap a photo or two but mine is really mundane and simple- I used designs that Woodstock had and chose very simple colors, dark gray body and black door and side covers. Some people have really gotten creative and done some very creative things with the designs and colors on these stoves. Put another way, prepare to be bored in advance :)

For a guy that feels like a kid at Xmas and he's waiting for a woodstove to show up, look at where you are, FHC. We are all kind of the same here. I agree that the designs and color were important to my wife and I but to me it was about what this stove can do, that was truly the exciting part, so I know where your coming from. Pics of your boring stove will be appreciated by me.
