The funny part is I actually HATE running. But I love how I feel when I'm done. I do love splitting wood though!
I hear ya. I like doing a combination of walking fast and start a slow jog, gradually increasing until I am sprinting as long as I feel like it. Then return to walking and repeat. Man I can tire myself out fast like that. Good calorie burning. It is 78º here right now!
Burned two short loads so far this month. Whenever it drops to 66 in the house, it's 'flame on' since we have no other heat...if you don't count using the oven. It's 68 in here now; May have to make a pizza tonight.
Haven't fire it up yet! I could have one night last week when it dropped to 40, but since it's been warm. 74 yesterday here! Edit: according to my weather station below, it's currently 70 again!
Gnarly day here. Looks like it will top out at 54, and it's damp and breezy. Looks like I will be firing at least a small load once a day, more often than not from here on in.
I haven't done that yet, but last year I may or may not have "accidentally" left all the windows open overnight so I'd have no choice but to light a fire in the AM to take the chill out for the Mrs...
We are running the AC here just to get rid of the humidity. I had no complaints when I came home and found it running. Mid 70's today with RH above 65% this afternoon going up to the mid 90% tonight. And it's supposed to linger till the weekend.
Been burning a menagerie of hardwood lumber cutoffs just to get the chill off and colder nites throw in some heavy maple slab. Will fire up the big guns (furnace) in Dec or thereabouts with oak, maple, cherry and beech with a sprinkle of coal.
A/C running now for the same reason. We don't have central air, thankfully I was too lazy to take the window units out this past weekend!
Three loads so far; First two were short loads of Black Cherry, last night was a bigger load of Silver Maple. SuperCedar with Tulip Poplar kindling lit all loads. Looks like we'll be burning a few times a week...seeing a lot of low 60s/low 40s in the forecast.
Down in the 40's here tonight. My wife is in the Florida Keys at a wedding and it's 80..lol.. Just tossed on two bigger splits - one maple one ash.. Watching the Florida State Notre Dame game.. With beer.... In the almost done basement. This room is why we bought this house over the other 2. Should have the room cleaned up and properly furnished by next weekend! Life is good..
Yup. Back porch thermometer says 31º here loon. Ash, Maple, and a nice piece of Oak going in the Wood Gun.
It's 34.7 on the Radio Shack Special so we're still burning Hemlock, White Pine and some Bigtooth Aspen.
