Snow level higher with all the rain.
    Trail is muddy too.
I skidded a few logs but decided it's not worth fighting muddy logs.
Fell & prepped some trees for tomorrow morning, hopefully it'll be frozen.

Having some trees prepped got me a full load today
Using the trailer saves skidding thru the mud.
Bucking in the woods is easier on the chain & the wood is cleaner
but, it adds 2 more steps,
load the trailer then off load to the big trailer .

Thought the atv trailer would be a PIA, but it worked out really well.
May make it part of the setup from here on.
Trailer hauls more per trip than what the atv can skid.
I thought the steep down hill would be tough, but all went well.

I skid the logs thru the woods to a staging area, buck & load,
Trail from there is good all the way out.
It got muddier & muddier as the day warmed up.
    Trailer saved the day :)

Heavy load , I'm guessing I have all the 7000 lbs the trailer is rated for.
After off loading,( in the dark, ) I was almost to tired to eat.

Even though you added a step , that's better than having cut a lot of dirty wood .
Trailer full , It Was a productive day

That's a really cool trailer mod you made there, with the 'trap door' for the ATV. :binoculars:When did you do that? Don't recall seeing that in the bogydave firewood process thread. Looks like you're fitting more wood on that way.

    Nice haul!

Thanks for taking us along Dave. Looks like the gear you were using was perfect. Conditions always seem to determine the time it takes. I like your railer mod too. Good idea.

Good work Dave. How did you swing this "early" anyway? That must be just like it is going to be when we are cutting wood when we get up to the FHC in the sky! :saw::tree::saw::axe::ithappened::dennis::cheers:

Right where I want to be.
Yep and although it adds steps, somehow it seems a little easier. Weird.
Probably just me and my process.
It's a good thing you didn't skid anything through those midget lakes and mud bogs......woulda' been heck on the chains.
Dave, maybe you could post up some of the old pics of when you did the trailer mods. Lots of guys here haven't seen those. Just a suggestion.....when you have some spare time.
