I've got a few of these to do right now.......

Here's how I keep em straight.....

The cover is tagged, and the case, and the jug. Then the parts are kept separate like this.

    They keep multiplying. :smoke:

Here's a couple of shots of a hybrid we're doing too.

We take the time to upgrade the jug bolts to 6mm when we do this conversion....

    A little machine work....

Here I'm cutting the plating from the inside outward......stops it from chipping when I cut the base.

    Oh heck.......another jumped in.

Yeah, that's six MS460 jugs I'm porting today. My hand hurts just thinking about it.

    Is the 6mm conversion necessary?

If I remember right there is a bit of slotting of the holes required.

Gotta clearance the transfer bridge to make room for da flywheel.

Gotta clearance FW & PTO side of cylinder bases to fit inside crankcase

Gotta slot holes to match case. Use 044 gasket as template.

Gotta use spacers on the bottom 2 exhaust mounts.

But buying a jug isn't the same as porting. You have to add $300 to the cost of the jug, to port it.

In this case, that's $475 total. Plus shipping..

Yep. I sold that new cylinder I ported for $350 and thought that was a good deal. I hope to run into a few more cylinders here soon. There's some 046 saws in a box at the dealer.
