Cooking for the masses.... large party dishes

Speaking of good walking food, walking tacos...

 

Yeah should have been "coney". Hot dog with chili....plus cheddar cheese, onions, mustard, and tobasco at my house

 

Onions are essential.

 

I agree. We had a local place that's closed now that used to make great conies. Never heard the term until they opened up. We just call them chili cheese dogs

Anyways, chili, cheese, onions, and a little mustard makes for a good hot dog

 

Some places insist that you need a cheese sauce, called coney sauce. Can't say that I care for it.

Alright, so chili dogs have made the menu. And a co-worked just gave me some hickory chunks (have to buy around here which I refuse to do)... so maybe the smoker is back on. Good stuff and thank you for all the feedback.

 

BLASPHEMOUS!!!! Coney sauce is not chili. How dare you mention putting that vile stuff on a dog...

Chili dogs were a hit! Got good reviews and I thought they were excellent.

Have leftover everything... Chicken, lasagna, dogs, chili, and just a bit of kale soup. The wife was worried about not having side dishes, but a few guests helped out with that. Now I don't have to cook for a week.

No beans in coney sauce. This is something of a Detroit/Michigan tradition
