If the handle gets tweaked it can break the tank by the front mount for the handle. Doesn't take much to require $125 tank. That's the weakest part of that series stihls.

That huge saw makes the bar look tiny ;) Either way that thing is a beast!

Bring that with you to the next GTG. I am going to make sure we have a Cant large enough for 36" bars (30"-32" Cant) !! :dex: I plan on having a certain 90 cc C-M saw by then!!

I do want to eventually port it. Right now it has a muffler mod, carb swap, and ignition timing advance. I also switched to the .050'' chain for more durability.

Here's a pic of my baby stihl :D

    image.jpg

And yep, that little 170 conquered that big ole load of sweetgum. Shortly after is when I bought my 291, it's a little better suited to the log loads I get now  . But the 170 has been a great saw to me. Always easy to start, and now does a great job as a brush clearer or sawbuck saw for small branches. I've also been known to use it when doing "carpentry". My brand of carpentry anyways...

To prove it got cut up

I really like my 170. A muffler mod and ignition timing advance really wake them up.
