So here is what I have been thinking. I want to do this conversion and document it for the forum but need a subject saw to convert. If any of you who still have one of the Solo 665 saws I sold earlier in the year and are interested in getting a little more out of it and do not want to do the work yourself, here is what I propose.

I will do the conversion for you, using a new OEM Solo 681 C/P kit. I only have 1 kit available so first come first served. I will sell you the kit at my cost ($286.75) and you will get your 665 P/C back with the converted saw.

There will be no labor charge, just the cost of the kit and cost of shipping both ways.

Tombstone is one of my favorites too. One of my fondest memories growing up was watching Cowboy movies with my Papaw.

Have you ever watched Seraphim Falls, Dex? Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan.

This is the last post made in the "You asked for more build threads" by KRL thread.....
OK, finally, 681 P/C kits from Germany cleared customs in the US last Friday and were shipped to me today! I will post some pics when they arrive. Also will start a new thread on the conversion of a 665 to 681!

I'm trying to decide if I wanna keep this saw.......

I'm also tempted to build it using a 7910 top end.

    What to do.......what to do????

A 'Dexter Clean Machine' is in the works. It did not make any sense to ship a saw all over hell's half acre! So, the kit is going to be sent to Dex and he will be doing the thread using his saw as a subject.

Detailed thread with details and pics, to show Johnny Homeowner that a top end swap can be pretty straightforward.

A little time, patience, and some tools (some that Johnny Homeowner may need to buy) and it can be done rather easily.

    Thanks KRL!!
