I sure am my friend!!! I cooked my chain though, I don't think I'm getting enough bar oil to this chain! Seems to be a common problem with the newer STIHLs.... I was noodling away and it got dull in an instant, I checked to see if I hit something but it was clean?

I meant, that's what the dog is doing!  Did the cutters look rounded over at all? I gotta turn my oiler all the way up to get enough while I'm noodling. If I don't I end up with buildup on the chain, but it's not necessarily dull. Cross cutting a large round afterwards usually cleans it back up if it's not dull. I know they put a lot shallower angle on ripping chain; never used it before but I hear it's supposed to cut nicer that way.

Oh, HAHAHAHA! Sorry, I'm a little tired today....
No they didn't looked rounded over, I just took it apart and cleaned it out and took a cross cut on a round like you suggested and that did the trick! The chain still looked sharp as hell so I knew I didn't hit anything. I put the oiler adjuster all the way up too, that seemed to help a little. Thanks for the tip!! :like:

Nice. What is it, Pignut? I've only seen Pignut and Shag here so far; May be one of the several other types...
They will often play dead if they see that there's a lot of stacking work to be done. ;)

That'll give some nice heat after it's dry. Dog likes the score too, trying to give a high 5 or I mean 4

Wow, hickory score! :) That's a pretty big one too (not the dog), not too many hickories need to be noodled. :axe:

Yeah, it was a good sized tree for sure! I could have noodled a few more but we just muscled them into the truck.
