This may be old news and if so I apologize but saw this article and thought you all might be interested. This could be very good news for pellets made in Maine as their cost of electricity will be coming down and thus allowing them to dry the pellets as much as needed. I have not seen this, Thanks for sharing. I'm glad MWP is catching a bit of a break! Scot L is a good chap and has really tried to make a good pellet! I'd say he's got the best mill and tries to make best pellet he can. Not sure he'll venture back to the softwoods though. I heard that it takes too much away from standard production. Maybe this will help? Northeast is making a softwood or was. But still needs work IMHO. Pellets aren't dense enough, but they did burn pretty clean.
My understanding is they are not producing softwoods this year because of this project and it taking all their time.....as you say we will see if they go back to them after its done. Is Scott L a member on here? If so maybe he can update date us as to the status of the project and what this will mean for them as far as pellet production?
