I personally low the low end stuff. Love walmart and Harbor Freight. I buy tons of low end stuff and for most consumers it is all you ever need.

Take for example those vibrating cutters that got popular 5-10 years ago. I need one once every few years for one or three 1 minute cuts. Why would I buy an american or german made one for $400 plus the blades n such when the $20 harbor freight one works good enough for me. Or a saw all I bought one for $20... Yea I tore it up after totally cutting nails and old wood when I redid a porch tore out a small wall and tiny valance in a bathroom and some cabinets and several other tasks. Sure I could of bought a $250 milwaukee or some other but at the time I did not have the money and I needed one. It tore up just as I finished the job I threw it away with a smile on my face. That was like 4 years ago and havent needed one since then. Sure glad I did not spent 15 times what I did for it!!!

The low end stuff has its place. If you havent looked at HF recently their tools are much better quality than before...still not snap on but I am not a pro and I have done everything I need with cheap tools.

Sure its exporting jobs. But if you think those jobs will come back your crazy. Only a matter of time till everything g is made there except small boutique things like radio dog tracking collars or other things that havent proven to be made there.

Heck in my industry (forestry) there send I g containers to the woods to be loaded with logs to send to china or wherever to saw to either send here or I guess ship back?? I dont care it boosts prices. No the downside to this is if china subsidizes this so mich that they can ship lumber back to undercut american mills and flood market sending them out of biz then only choice is china mills and then they buy at low prices. But what I see happen I g is china buying the american mills.

There so many folks like me that make a living wage but have to buy china if you want to have anything in life.

I agree with you about the HB multi-tool, they are great. With the US becoming a major oil/natural gas producer some of the manufacturing jobs may be coming back. I believe it will be a game changer.

My husband just bought a 1/2 sheet of finished plywood (they were out of stock on rough). I was shocked. The sticker said China. I cant wrap my head around what it must cost to truck it to the coast, then ship it to China and back?

We own the compressor attachment of the vibrating cutter from Harbor Freight. Works well for our needs.

We worked at an outdoor gear/army surplus 20 years ago and could get a great deal on exofficio fishing shirts. He still has one! cool pockets, velcro tag to hold pole while you rig it, and zippers for ventilation. He will however continue to use Hanes drawers :smoke:

Ahhhh but as a "smarta..fella" I recognize I have blind spots. I need discussion and debate to refine my positions, I am always looking for new information, data, facts to either reinforce my position, or show that I am completely wrong, in which case I will change my ideas as they relate to my personal moral code.

They are amazing, I wont wear anything but microfiber boxer briefs any longer.

Crud, I guess I better get a pair, he might like them too. I thought it was the wives undergarments that expensive?

Do you mind if I ask about the fit? He likes the cotton boxer briefs one size larger than the chart recommends. Are these stretchy?

Underwear you always have to get one size larger than chart. Not sure why?

Yes, the are stretchy, does he have any "boxer briefs"?

You want them to fit snugly, they breath really well, so snug isn't a worry. I would start with one pair see how it goes, more than likely he will want more.

done! thanks. Yes now he wears hanes boxer briefs, but they are all cotton, no spandex. We will see how he likes them! Comfort is important to me for him, he does long days.

They are incredible, I bought two pair, wore one of them for a long day of work, and that night tossed all my underwear except microfiber. I have a few different brands now, Patagonia, Adidas, Ex Officio, and Nike. Wont wear anything else.

Au contraire mon ami! I bought two of 'em; one for me and one for someone else. Less than $175 each.

My underwear drawer is full of those Exoficio boxer briefs! Sizing for me is the same as Hanes/Fruit of the Loom. Once I tried them I doubt I'll ever go back to cotton, the price is worth it. Stoic makes a merino wool pair too that I really like which are pretty expensive but every now and then you can get them for around $25/pair on steepandcheap.com. The wool breathes even better and is warm in cool temps, and cool in warm temps.

Flannel to consumerism to wool underwear! I love it.

FWIW I try to avoid walmart only because the clientele creep me out!

Now, how's about a beer! :drunk:
